The hair was immediately removed from the neighbourhood of the wound, and as it was matted with blood the whole scalp was subsequently shaved, when also a contused wound was found to exist over the parietal bone of the same side'. A bluut probe was carefully introduced and gently pressed against the cut edges of the bone, but no broken portions were felt, so I did not consider it justifiable to make a prolonged senrch.
